The fourth and final installment of the Twilight Saga will come in two parts, which means a lot more Edward and Bella, but how long will we have to wait for the last movie? With the first part of Breaking Dawn slated for a November 11th, 2011 release the following film was expected to have a summer of 2012 release, but Summit reps say maybe not.
"We've targeted a number of dates, and we have yet to determine when it will happen. We haven't even determined that it will be the summer. It's still the source of discussions," says Summit distribution chief, Richie Fay.
The summer of 2012 is filling up with a lot of sure-to-be-blockbusters, Breaking Dawn's release date will have to be chosen wisely. "The Avengers," "Madagascar 3," "Men in Black 3," a "Star Trek" sequel, the "Spider-Man" prequel, "Ice Age" and a third "Batman," are filling up that same summer. If Breaking Dawn wants to dominate the box office as it's predecessors have it'll have to be vamped up to compete with these other heavy-weights in the theater at the same time.
